I am blessed to have some lovely talented nieces who are each special young women. I really enjoy them and find them interesting in many ways.
One of these young women is Melissa Santiago she is beautiful, smart and a darn talented knitter. She made these awesome fingerless gloves that I got in the mail yesterday.
They are the perfect color and fit my little Hobit-like hands great. I asked her to make the fingerless kind because I have such short fingers I can rarely find gloves that both fit and are comfortable. I can’t wait for cold weather so I can wear them.
I think she did a great job I love the cable detail running up the front of the gloves. I can knit but not as well as she can, I will enjoy these for years to come.
Thank you so much Melli I love them.
p.s. sorry everyone has to see how messy my work table is,lol.
Managing my online shops takes many hours of computer work, having 2 just multiplies the work. I enjoy the work but really I would rather spend the time making pretty things. So to that end I have decided to combine the 2 shops. Over the next few weeks I will be moving the supplies from my Gingerbell’s Too shop to my Gingerbell’s shop.
I will be having a “Moving Sale” in Gingerbell’s Too Shop starting this week end and begin listing all new items to my Gingerbell’s shop…..
Here are a couple of new items I will be listing this weekend….
photos..1.pink peachblow cabochon 2.black and blue agate beads 3.Picasso jasper beads
I am happy to be able to free up some of my time for creating once I get done with the move….Don’t forget to take advantage of the moving sale at http://Gingerbellstoo.artfire.com this weekend…
I have always found that the best way out of a creative slump is to teach myself something new.
As of late I have been dealing with some health issues and that has put a strain on my energy and creativity. I don’t have much control over the health stuff it is in my Dr’s hands but I do have control over my creative mind. I have decided to pull up my big girl panties and take control of what I can and get on with it……..
My friend Moe can tell you I am not much of a wire worker. For some reason I find it a little intimidating so I force myself to incorporate wire wrapping into some of my projects. My skills are very basic but every time I master a new wire skill I feel happy and it sparks my creativity.
Yesterday I was determined to make a basic wire wrapped ring; and guess what it wasn’t as hard as it looked….
Here is my first one………..
not bad for a first try and it is surprisingly comfortable and fits perfectly. So I tried another……
There it is on my hobbit hand; the wrap is much neater and it fits great too. Now that I have the basics down it is tine to start adding some creative flair to the basics.
I do a 10 day craft show every fall and I think it would be great fun for the people to pick their own bead and watch while I make their ring for them on the spot. I have until October to perfect my skill set for it and come up with some pretty designs. I have ordered some more wire and will get to practicing when it arrives.
I felt much better after playing around with the wire and felt a little of my spark come back……….yeeehaaaa!
